On the superb Sinfonia Concertante KV 364, the programme editor at the LA Philharmonic writes: "For many, this piece represents the greatest of Mozart's violin concertos, surpassing the five official ones. At the same time, in the Sinfonia Concertante, the viola part plays no second violin role! Mozart's choice of second soloist is revealing: although an excellent violinist, he himself liked to play the viola in string quartets, enjoying the perspective of being 'in the middle'."
The Sinfonia Concertante features a remarkable partnership between the two soloists, surrounded by a highly polyphonic orchestral fabric (the orchestra's strings are displayed in six real parts, in addition to the oboes and horns). In Mozart's original score, the viola part is even written in D major, requiring the player to tune his strings a semitone higher. Musique des Lumières and Facundo Agudin welcome the great soloists of the Tonhalle Zürich: Klaidi Sahatci and Gilad Karni. The complete recording of the concert will soon be available online!

Au sujet de la superbe Sinfonia Concertante KV 364, l’éditeur du LA Philharmonic écrit : « Pour beaucoup, cette pièce représente le plus grand des concertos pour violon de Mozart, surpassant les cinq concertos officiels. En même temps, dans la Sinfonia Concertante, la partie réservée à l’Alto n'a point le rôle d’un second violon! Le choix de Mozart pour le second soliste est révélateur : bien qu'excellent violoniste, il aimait lui-même jouer de l'alto dans les quatuors à cordes, appréciant la perspective de se retrouver "au milieu". »
La Sinfonia Concertante met en valeur un partenariat remarquable entre les deux solistes, entourés par un tissu orchestral fort polyphonique (les cordes de l’orchestre sont disposées en six parties réelles, en plus des hautbois et des cors).
Dans la partition originale de Mozart, la partie d'alto est même écrite en ré majeur, obligeant l'altiste à accorder ses cordes un demi-ton plus haut. Musique des Lumières et Facundo Agudin accueillent ici les grands solistes de la Tonhalle Zürich: Klaidi Sahatci et Gilad Karni.
